Our Customer Support and Response & Repair teams are experiencing high demand following Storm Éowyn
Radius is the largest housing association and social enterprise on the island of Ireland with 1,000 staff working across 60 towns and communities in Northern Ireland. We directly manage 14,000 homes while the use of innovative technology and mobile support services mean almost 30,000 households are served by Radius.
To ensure that the Association operates with the maximum efficiency and effectiveness the Belfast and Holywood office estate is being consolidated on to one single site in Holywood. This strategy will deliver cost savings over time that can be redirected for the benefit of our customers.
The new office will enable staff to work in a modern multi-functional space offering the potential for increased collaboration and joint working to ensure Radius delivers the best service possible to customers.
The new office building retains the existing premises owned by Radius at 4 Redburn Square extending the footprint along Hibernia Street in the space formerly occupied by Habinteg Housing Association and a dilapidated taxi office, with an extension design that essentially represents a ‘mirroring’ of the existing office.
With handover to the contractor, safe demolition work started in November 2023 and further work continues into 2024. The overall construction period is scheduled to take 15 months.
An increase in the number of employees working in the new office has the potential to have a positive impact on local shops and economy.
The Association however is mindful of the impact on local parking and ongoing hybrid working arrangements will minimise this as not all employees will be in the office at the same time.
Radius Housing is also actively encouraging our employees to utilise alternative and sustainable forms of transport such as car-sharing, electric vehicles, public transport, walking and cycling where possible as set out in our latest Environmental, Sustainability and Governance Report.
In terms of wider sustainability measures the new offices are being built to BREEAM major sustainability requirements.
BREEAM sets the standard for best practice in sustainable building design, construction and operation. Although it is commonly applied to UK projects, BREEAM is a globally recognised standard and allows the assessment and benchmarking of new and existing property assets across a multitude of building types.
