Day Care Services
For many older people who live alone or at home with a carer, Radius Housing Day Care services offer the opportunity to enhance their quality of life by providing a safe, manageable and comfortable environment, as well as a caring and relaxed atmosphere, therapeutic activities and social stimulation.
Our centres have large open plan lounges and dining areas plus an activity room that allows for small group or 1-1 activities or for moments of solitude. In addition there are open spaces outside which enable service users and staff to walk around in a secure and safe environment.
Our staff continuously build on their knowledge and skills and aim to use best practices wherever possible. Staff attend a structured training programme to help them provide the most appropriate care and support that enhances the lives of people who attend Day Care.
Activities
Each centre has an agreed programme of activities in place. Service users are encouraged to contribute their ideas and suggestions and the day centre staff will endeavour to fulfil both individual and group requests according to need, availability and with health & safety considerations in mind. Activities on offer can include crafts and quizzes, reminiscence and life story work, activities, occasional trips, musical therapy and day trips.
Dining
We believe in providing a well balanced diet using fresh and seasonal ingredients. When an individual joins our day care service, staff will meet with them to discuss their dietary requirements including any special dietary needs, likes and dislikes.
What's Included
Following referral from the Health and Social Care Trust, the day care service is free to those who meet the criteria, however a small charge is payable per day which covers the cost of refreshments and lunch.
Applying
We provide Day Care Services in partnership with a Health & Social Care Trust and as such provision of day care is via a referral process.
