Linda Kelly RN, MSc, PGDip, BSC (Hons)

Linda is the Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Practice and Education Council for Nurses and Midwives (NIPEC). Previously Linda was Interim Chief Nursing Officer, for theDepartment of Health, NI. Linda has been registered as a nurse since 1990 and over the course of her career has completed her BSC (Hons) in Nursing and MSc in Public Health and has worked extensively, developing her career across a wide variety of acute and community nursing posts in Northern Ireland.

Linda has a long spanning career with a background in District Nursing, Care Management and Governance Lead posts. In 2011 Linda took up post as Assistant Director of Nursing: Safe and Effective Care, in the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust which she held for 9 years.

She progressed her interest in continuous improvement through completion of the Institute of Health Improvement (IHI) Advisor Programme in 2016. In 2019 she graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management from London South Bank University following completion of the Aspiring Nurse Director Programme, before taking up a secondment to the Department of Health as Deputy Chief Nursing Officer in March 2020.

Linda joined the Board in December 2023 and is on the Customer Experience Committee.
