Tenants from six of Fold Housing Association’s independent living schemes are coming together to celebrate Fold’s 40th anniversary with an afternoon of entertainment at The Magherabuoy Hotel, Portrush.
Area Housing Manager, Bridie Doherty said, “Living in a Fold is very sociable and we love nothing more than a get together. We are delighted to have over 150 tenants from all of our schemes in the North West including, Tullaghmurry Fold, Portstewart, Rathain Fold, Coleraine, Toberondey Fold, Kilrea, Gortgole Fold, Portglenone Portcaman Fold, Bushmills, Kathleen L Thompson, Garvagh and Skerries Fold, Portrush.
She added, “Fold Housing Association schemes are very much part of the local communities. We get involved in different activities, events and support a whole range of charities. We are thrilled that Carnalridge Primary School Choir and Flautists, Portrush, Milburn Primary School Choir, Coleraine and Accordian Sounds, Bangor are joining our celebrations by giving wonderful performances for our tenants. Rose Hamil, a tenant from Skerries Fold, Portrush will also entertain the guests with a keyboard recital.’’
John McLean, Chief Executive of Fold said, “Our 40th anniversary is an achievement to be celebrated by everyone in the Fold family. Fold was established by the response of a group of committed volunteers to meet housing and care needs of older people and has grown to become a provider of housing, care and support to over 30,000 homes, employing over 800 staff and managing over 6500 apartments and houses in 60 towns across Northern Ireland.
He added, “As Chief Executive, I am proud of everything that Fold has achieved over the last 40 years and I thank our tenants, residents, clients, board and staff members and all the organisations, bodies and partners that support our work. It is their continued dedication and commitment that has ensured our longevity and puts us in a great position to meet the challenges of the next 40 years.”
