Spelga Mews Team Scoop Prestigious Care Award

Radius Housing’s Spelga Mews, a supported living scheme in Banbridge, has scooped this years’ Independent Health Care Provider (IHCP) Care Team Award-Domiciliary/Care at Home award at a ceremony held in Belfast on Thursday 5 October.

This prestigious award recognises the vital work that care staff, working together, makes to individual lives, the care environment and excellence in practice.   It recognises at care-in-home teams who provide services outside of the scope or standard normally expected for such roles.

Louise McConville, Registered Manager, said, “We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to receive this IHCP award which recognises the hard work and dedication of the team here at Spelga Mews. 

“Radius is a specialist in dementia care and support services.  The staff here at Spelga Mews have a specialist and yet diverse role delivering care and support in peoples own homes.  We provide care and support to older people with complex needs and varying degrees of dementia.  Our team focus on enabling tenants to have happy and fulfilled lives within the local community. The support provided is pertinent for individuals wishing to stay in their home for as long as possible and in helping to maintain their independence throughout their dementia journey.  In Spelga Mews we celebrate every day. We celebrate the lives and achievements of all the tenants - every occasion, every season; every birthday is a big milestone and cause for celebration.
