Radius sets out housing ambition at Newry networking event

Radius Housing has outlined its ambition to build more new homes in Newry and the wider area in a stakeholder briefing event. The housing association is one of the leading housing developers in Northern Ireland, and has a significant programme of work in the Newry area.

The event, hosted by Radius Housing in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, brought together elected representatives, construction businesses and community organisations, as well representatives from NIHE and the Newry, Mourne & Down Council to find out about Radius’ work and network with local businesses and stakeholders.

Radius Housing Chair, Diana Fitzsimons outlined the range of work Radius already undertakes in the Newry area and their ambition to help address the housing pressures in the local area through the construction of new homes. Radius Housing currently manages more than 500 general needs homes from their regional office in Newry, and has 127 new units in construction across the city.

Speaking at the event, Diana Fitzsimons, Chair of Radius Housing, said: “As a leading housing developer, as well a social housing provider managing just under 13,000 homes right across Northern Ireland, at Radius Housing we recognise the importance in working in partnership with local businesses and organisations to successfully deliver first class housing.

“Newry plays an extremely important role in our development plans over the next five years, and that is why this engagement and networking event is essential. The new housing we are offering extends beyond social housing, with a range of affordable homes in many of our new schemes, which will help many people get on the property ladder.”

These new home will help address the significant housing need in the Newry, Mourne & Down Council area.
