Major Jobs Fairs Scheduled

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has announced a series of four major Jobs Fairs and Advice Forums.
The fairs will take place in the Canal Court Hotel in Newry on Thursday 10 September; the Millennium Forum, Londonderry on Wednesday 23 September; Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in Ballymoney on Thursday 1 October and the Europa Hotel in Belfast on Wednesday 21 October 2015. Each event will run from 10am to 4pm and has been organised by the Department for Employment and Learning.
Speaking ahead of the Job Fairs and Advice Forums, Minister Farry said: ''These events bring employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof. The Job Fairs have something for everyone and I would encourage anyone, whether in work, unemployed or simply considering their education and training options, to explore the services which will be available on each day.''
A wide range of vacancies will be available at each event, including opportunities in Information Technology, Hospitality and Media and Creative Industries. Advice and guidance will also be available on a range of training and re-skilling opportunities.
The Minister continued: ''A range of support organisations, for example my Department''s Careers Service and Employment Service, will also be present to provide individuals with information, advice and guidance on a range of training and employment schemes that can assist individuals progress towards work and better employment prospects, equipping them with the skills to compete in the labour market and meet the needs of employers both now and in the future.
Almost 170 large and small employers from across Northern Ireland will be available across the events to answer questions, discuss training and employment opportunities. Industry professionals from various sectors will also be hosting information sessions. As of mid-August, over 2,250 vacancies have been confirmed as being available, with this figure rising on a daily basis.
