14 Oct 2015

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry is reminding people that a major Job Fair will be held in Belfast on Wednesday 21 October. The event will host over 70 employers including Fold Housing Association.
The event will take place in the Europa Hotel, Belfast between 10:00am and 4:00pm and has been organised by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL).
Minister Farry said: ''This is the fourth annual Belfast event which brings together employers, support organisations and jobseekers under one roof. The Job Fair has something for everyone and I would encourage anyone, whether in work, unemployed or simply considering their education and training options, to explore the services that will be available on the day.''
The Job Fair will offer jobseekers employment opportunities, careers guidance and advice on training and jobsearch skills. Over 70 employers, including BT Flex, Allen & Overy, Firstsource, Hastings Hotel Group, Ikea, Charles Hurst Group, Tesco and Almac, will be in attendance, as will a number of support and training organisations. A total of over 2,300 jobs will be on offer at the event. A number of employers will be interviewing for job opportunities on the day and staff will be on hand to assist with any last minute interview tips and techniques.
The Minister continued: ''A range of support organisations including my Departments Careers Service and Employment Service will be present to provide individuals with information, advice and guidance on a range of training and employment schemes. These can assist individuals to progress towards work and better employment prospects.''
Visitors to the event will also have the opportunity to participate in a series of job club workshops and can receive assistance with online jobsearch.
Councillor Emmet McDonagh-Brown, City Growth and Regeneration Committee at Belfast City Council which is a co-sponsor of the event, said: ''Belfast City Council is proud to partner with DEL on this event.
