Fold Donation Plugs Funding Gap for Whitehill Community House

Fold Housing Association has donated £400 to Whitehill Community House to plug a short fall in their funding for this year, the group is run by Whitehill and Bloomfield Community Association.
Kelly Kitchen, Development Officer at Fold said, “Fold Housing Association is in the business of building, not only homes, but communities.   We realise the importance of the Whitehill Community House which is a hub for families living in the locality.   This donation will help them to meet a gap in funding and will enable them to continue to provide community events and training.
She added, “Fold are currently building 14 new homes located just off the Skipperstone Road, within the Whitehill Estate.  These properties will provide high quality accommodation for singles and families who are in high housing need.  The properties are scheduled to complete early 2017.  Once allocated Folds new tenants will also benefit from the hard work and the services offered by the Whitehill community Association.
In addition to this, Fold are also in the process of building 199 new homes at Rathgill Parade which will provide a range of high quality homes for singles and families in an area of high housing need”. 
Alex Easton, MLA said, “I am delighted that once again that Fold Housing have offered their help with funding for this year to Whitehill Community Association after I approached them on the issue, this funding has helped the community house to stay open after the reduction in funding by Council and I appreciate how Fold have worked alongside me and recognised the implications of having a community house in Whitehill for the benefit of all the local community and this funding is a lifeline for that and I can’t thank Fold enough.”
Tracey Morrow, Chair, Whitehill Community Association said, “Whitehill Community Association would like to thank Fold Housing for their kind donation of £400 towards the running costs of the Learning and Resource Centre in the Whitehill Estate. This will help the Association to continue to carry on with their hard work as community representatives.”
Fold and Helm are working towards a merger in 2017 with the intention of enhancing further their services to all customers and increasing the supply of new quality homes.
