Fold Completes Significant Expansion in Newry

Fold Housing Association has completed a significant expansion of its office space in Newry city centre following a period of major growth in the Newry, Armagh and South Down areas.   The new office was officially opened by Adele Doherty, Regional Operarations Manager, Alzheimer''s Society - Fold''s corporate charity partner.

Now one of the main social landlords in the area, Fold has recently increased its staffing levels at the Newry office from three to seven employees.

Stock levels have also reached new highs and the organisation is in the planning phase to provide a further 78 new homes in Newry, Armagh and Ardglass. This will bring the total number of stock managed from this office to approximately 950 and offer much needed social housing, including apartments, houses and bungalows for families with complex needs, in an area of high demand.

  Fold provides 875 units in this area with sheltered accommodation for independent older people in Newry, Crossmaglen, Newtownhamilton, Rathfriland and Armagh. Accommodation for families and singles is available in Newry, Armagh, Crossmaglen, Forkhill, Clough and Ardglass.The extension of the regional office is part of a long term strategy which will benefit Newry and the surrounding areas. The team based at this office are responsible for the housing management and maintenance of all current and planned developments in the Southern area.
