Exam results - important information is now online

For thousands of students and their parents/guardians across Northern Ireland the waiting is nearly over. Exam results will be published on 14 August (AS Levels/A-Levels) and 21 August (GCSEs) and important decisions will need to be made.

The Department for Employment and Learning''s Careers Service has a team of professionally qualified careers advisers who offer impartial careers information, advice and guidance to people of all ages, tailored to individual needs. Their services are in high demand from young people and their parents or guardians throughout the course of the academic year, and especially at results time when important decisions have to be made.

The Careers Service has offices across Northern Ireland. Careers advisers are located in Job Centres, Jobs & Benefits offices and in our six Careers Resource Centres in Dungannon, Bangor, Downpatrick, Ballymena, Ann Street in Belfast, and Richmond Chambers, The Diamond, Londonderry.

No appointments are required for interviews at Careers Resource Centres. Further information and details of how to contact your local careers adviser is available through the Careers Service website http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/careers or alternatively you can call 0300 200 7820 from 9am  5pm.

Young people and parents can also access a wealth of useful information through the Careers Service website http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/careers. Whatever your circumstances following receipt of your results, the website has a wide range of useful information on possible options.

The Careers Service welcomes the participation of parents and guardians in the guidance process and recognises that their support is really important when key decisions are being made.

A Guide for Parents “ How to help your child with future career plans'''' has been developed by the Careers Service. Check out www.nidirect.gov.uk/help-your-child-make-the-right-career-choices.htm for more helpful advice and assistance for parents.

Fold Housing Association would like to wish good luck to everyone - of all ages! - awaiting exam results in the coming weeks.
