Construction of 29 new homes underway in Dungannon

Work is underway to construct 29 new social homes in Dungannon. The new homes are being developed by Radius Housing on Oaks Road in the town.

Radius Housing is a leading social housing provider, managing more than 13,000 homes across Northern Ireland, and building 400 new homes every year. This is the latest development project undertaken in Dungannon by Radius, having previously completed new houses in Earls Court in 2018.

The new homes is an investment of £5.4 million, with £2.43m provided by Radius Housing and the remainder being provided the Department for Communities. The main contractor for the project is Sandale Developments, who moved on to site in March 2023, and it is hoped that the works will be completed by May 2024.

Speaking during a visit to the site, John McLean, Chief Executive of Radius Housing, said “I am delighted to see the early progress on these new homes. New homes, particularly new social homes, are extremely important for towns like Dungannon. Not only do they help address the housing waiting list by providing high quality homes, they also provide vital support for the construction sector, creating jobs and providing apprenticeships.

“We have worked with Sandale Developments before, including on Earls Court in Dungannon, and we know the high standards they work to, which match the standards we want to ensure our tenants can benefit from. I am looking forward to seeing the progress on this project and new tenants being in place in 2024.”
