Celebrating 100 Remarkable Years

There were huge celebrations at Barn Halt Cottages this week as they honoured a truly special milestone, the 100th birthday of Mrs Ellen Davinson!

Ellen marked the occasion with a joyful family party, It was a celebration to remember!

We were delighted to welcome some very special guests, including Mrs Julia Shitley, Deputy Lieutenant of County Antrim, who presented Ellen with a heartfelt letter of congratulations on behalf of Mr David McCorkell, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of County Antrim.

Ellen was also thrilled to receive her official birthday card from His Majesty the King, as well as a personal letter of congratulations from the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, a true honour and recognition of a century well lived.  

When asked the secret to her longevity, Ellen simply shared:

“Working hard from a young age.”

Angela and all the staff at BHC are overjoyed to have celebrated this incredible milestone with Ellen. Her warmth, resilience, and sense of humour continue to inspire us all.
