Radius Housing and CITB NI are working in partnership to award £500 to a construction craft apprentice who, in the period between September 2017 and August 2019, overcame significant adversity to allow them to complete their training programme and achieve a construction qualification at NVQ Level 2 or Level 3.
The Apprenticeship Endeavour Award acknowledges an apprentice’s educational journey as they work to achieve a construction qualification.
Last year's winners were Robert Mythen and Gerard McGeown, who were nominated by their respective colleges - Southern Regional College and Belfast Metropolitan College.
Robert, who is profoundly deaf, and Gerard, who has severe dyslexia, both demonstrated how, despite personal difficulties, they could achieve their construction qualifications and gain employment.
Nominations for this year's award can be made directly by the trainees or by their trainer or college.
The closing date for applications is Friday 14th February 2020, either by email to alison.mcclean@citbni.org.uk or by post to ’Apprenticeship Endeavour Award’, CITB NI, Nutts Corner Training Centre, 17 Dundrod Road, Crumlin, Co Antrim BT29 4SR. An email will be sent to confirm receipt of applications.
